Lily Frost @ Six Shooter Records
The warm and friendly people at Six Shooter Records invited the world into their little CD&Book Store/ArtGallery last night to hear Lily Frost debut her latest album Cine-Magique, which is just now available in stores.
You can sample her music at http://myspace.com/lilyfrost .
There's something totally unique about listening to a great performance in a small room that might hold 30 people at best.
The complimentary beer didn't hurt either.
For lack of space among other things, Lily performed with just her partner Jose Miguel Contreras at her side on guitar. The liner notes on the CD suggest that the group normally also includes Jason Ball on keyboards and Simone Grey providing backup vocals.Anyway, this mini-gig was all-too-short, but great all the same. Lily nearly electocuted herself at one point, when her guitar shorted something out when it hit the mike stand, but she recovered and carried on.

The couple's three month old son was waiting nearby, so after the show I had to do the vanity thing and get us all together in a photo.
The Six Shooter people tell me that they're going to keep the in-store gigs going for as long as the beer holds out. Next Tuesday, it's Major Maker (check out http://myspace.com/majormaker for a sample). Beyond that, no official announcements yet.
