Site Updates

Greetings, friends!

For those of you who don't take the grand tour every time you drop by Toronto Live! Club Hub, I thought I'd point out some changes we've made over the past couple weeks and what else is in store.

The biggest challenge is in keeping the photo galleries, and now video clips, organized. We think we're making some progress with a menu-driven approach, where you're selection appears on a common viewing screen. The layout is a little different for Pix vs Flix right now, but we'll probably make them more consistent using the pop-up menu approach you'll see on the Pix page.

For the short term that means we've taken a lot of collections offline temporarily. That, in turn, means that a lot of the links in the older entries in this (Chronicles) blog will be dead or only display partial results. We'll fix all of that in time.

We're adding more of a catalog to our CD/DVD/Book section, which we're now calling Emporium... a quaint old term for "store". We'll mainly be recommending the releases of indie Canadian performers that you're not likely to encounter elsewhere. We may also hook up with some other merchants eventually to offer other goodies.

The latest fun section we've added is called the Toy Box. We've been travelling the web looking for cool apps and gadgets for music fans. We've just got three so far, but they're great ones, and you can adapt them to your own preferences or create customized versions for your own web sites or blogs. We're kind of providing a sand box for you to play in. You can come back anytime, or start working or your own versions.

That's about it. It doesn't seem so much now, but there was a fair bit of effort involved, and it's still ongoing. As usual suggestions for other features are welcome.
